RoC 6: A milestone for Research on Chrysomelidae

The 6th volume of Research on Chrysomelidae appeared this month, part of a series that was the brainchild of Dr. Pierre Jolivet in Paris. These volumes bring together diverse topics and researchers from all corners of the globe and have proven over and over to be useful resources on knowledge about leaf beetles.  Our community is indebted to Pierre and the subsequent editorial teams.  It takes more than a year to produce each volume, in aligning the publisher and pricing, then notifying the community, before manuscripts trickle in.  The editorial phase of peer review and revisions takes time but is rigorous. I have not been disappointed in the review process or the quality of the eventual publication of my own manuscripts in this series.  RoC 6 is a milestone marker of a period when Pierre’s imprint and inspiration on Chrysomelidae research was strong.  He laid a strong foundation and good model, but now younger members of our community must step forward to advance research and push the knowledge boundary further. I am expanding my service to the community as I will co-host the leaf beetle symposium at the ICE 2016 congress this September and co-edit RoC 7, with Michael Schmitt as my guide and partner. I look forward to working with my community.
